Tour 7 : Altitude hike to Masca through the fairy tale forest / Fridays

This tour starts at the pass of Erjos going up to the heigths to the Gala. Before reaching the summit, we turn off and dive into the pristine "enchanted forest" , the laurel forest of Tenerife. Moving onwards on the ridge, we admire the endemic flora.

Fantastic views of the mountain of Teno and the valley of Palmar open up along the way. Very interesting are the big nets set up along the way which are “milking” the water from the trade winds. With the first view of Masca we rest, and the eye can rove over the Teno down to the deep blue Atlantic.

We continue always on the ridge along the vegetation line. A look at old terraced fields lets us guess the difficulties under which the former village of Masca. Before the trip back we make a stop at one of the many bar-restaurants of the village.
