Tour 4 : Chinyero / Saturdays

The walk around the volcano Chineryo leads us through the delicate pine forest of Tenerife to the long grown cold lava flows, which this vulcano send in the 20th Century towards Santiago del Teide. The way leads us through these streams before a narrow donkey path takes us directly into the lava field.

The extent of rock masses is simply amazing. After crossing the field, the path rises slightly and meanders through the pine forest upward in direction of the Chinyero. With the first look at the volcano we rest. On this hike, animal lovers get good value, when dozens of small lizards come by demanding their share during the rest.

Now we approach the volcano from the other side. While we go on over lava fields and through the pine forest, again and again we enjoy stunning views to the Chineryo. We keep this view from always different angles until the path leads down through the woods back to the car park.
